Photo of The Week: Singapore

Singapore skyline

It looks like a hurricane has blown a cruise liner on top of a skyscraper, but this amazing structure was actually built this way.

The Marina Bay Sands is one of the most impressive buildings in the Singapore skyline and it is the most expensive casino property in the world with a value of $6.5 billion USD. This ridiculous resort has a 2,561 room hotel, an 800,000 square foot shopping mall, a museum, several restaurants, an ice skating rink, and over 1,600 slot machines. Up at the top there is an infinity swimming pool with a breathtaking view.

While walking around Singapore we were amazed by the sparkling over-the-top architecture of this bustling city. It’s not a budget destination by any means, but marveling at it’s skyscrapers is lots of fun for a couple of days.

  1. Simply amazing, definitely a sight to marvel at! The resort seems like a city within itself as well, with lots of things to experience and participate in, even if it is quite pricey.

  2. Singapore has since long remained a tourists place, it has been developed by the govt that way. The structure though something new than the traditional Las Vegas things. Whether the pillars themselves have the casino or only the top liner like structure has it? What the wire structure in the picture is? Singapore is the favorite place for Hindi movie shooting also.
